I am passionate about art, colours, home decor, interior design, craftsmanship, history and cultures. Rugs NZ has come a long way from a mix of these strong interests. 

I have lived in various countries around the gulf region and developed a deep passion for hand knotted rugs. At one stage I wanted to add every single rug in my collection due to its uniqueness. Realistically this was not possible, then Rugs NZ came into my mind which could allow me to still collect with satisfaction that this exclusive collection will go in hands of like minded people.  

Rugs NZ collects unique, attractive and memorable hand knotted rugs and makes it available for like minded people to purchase with great customer experience.

Hand knotted rugs take a lot of effort (sometimes months) of magical hands with great consistency and attention to little details. Interestingly, every single rug carries its own unique value, history and craftsmanship. Two rugs are never the same and this uniqueness fascinates me. 

My passion reached another level of excitement when I discovered some of these rugs were made with Aotearoa wool. The beautiful scenery of mountains covered with green grass and roaming sheep always attracted me and I could see this whole scene transformed into another beautiful piece of an artistic rug.

Rugs NZ operates from beautiful South Island and all our rugs are shipped from Christchurch and Wellington.
